Last Easter I spent 4 days in South of Cebu, Oslob in the Philippines. I decided to share with you my recommendations of places worth a visit in Oslob and in nearby neighbourhoods. Moreover, I have decided to share with you my private photo album from this trip.

Things to do in Oslob, Cebu, Philippines

Let me take you for a trip around the Philippines! Today we will visit Oslob, Cebu. Sit down for a while, grab a cup of tea and come with me.

Stay in Noordzee Hostel

This is a must stay place. I think it is my Number 1 hostel from all of the hostels that I have ever visited. Read more about Noordzee Hostel in one of my previous posts.

Check out Kawasan Falls

Rent a motorbike from a place near the hostel for PHP600 per 24hours and take a 2 hour ride to the falls. An amazing road along the seaside. Entry tickets to the falls are PHP75.

Run through the water of Aguinid Falls

Get to the falls before 4pm. Buy a ticket PHP80 for foreigners and PHP40 for locals. You will get amazing guides who will make sure you have fun and take great pictures!

Swim with Whale Sharks

Take a 30 minute bus to Oslob for PHP35. Get in line, wait around 2 hours and get onto the boat. Swimming with Whale Sharks is allowed only between 6am and 12pm, be there early in the morning. These wild animals are amazing. The ticket costs PHP1000 for foreigners and PHP500 for locals.

Declaimer – visiting Whale Sharks in Oslob is sensitive topic. The time when we visited the place we weren’t aware of the way how the animals were threaten. Some says that it is not true that animals are threaten in the bad way, some strongly believes it is unethical to swim with whale sharks in Oslob. I will leave it to your own judgment.

Chill at Sumilon Island

Take a motorbike or van from the whale sharks to the boats which will take you to Sumilon Island. As far as I remember, we paid around PHP1200 for three of us for the van (both ways) and the boat. If you are lucky, you will be able chill at the part with sand. If you are unlucky like us, you will be one of the millions of people on this small island. Check out these pictures!

Take a deep swim in Tumalog Falls

After visiting Sumilon Island, take a van or motorbike (PHP100 per person both ways) to Tumalog Falls. Don’t walk! It is long difficult road. When you get to Tumalog Falls take a deep swim into cold water.

Take a ride to Cebu

Next morning take a bus to Cebu. If you have a flight the next day, stay at Hostel 7 Cebu via Hostelworld or Hostel 7 Cebu via Booking.com.
